Meet Jonathan & Katie Doub. The Doubs serve in Girne, Northern Cyprus, where they’ve lived and led New Life Church (@newlifechurch_trnc) since 2014. Jonathan grew up with Redeemer pastor Dwight Castle, and the two have been close friends since high school. What began as a deep friendship soon grew into a partnership in missions. After serving in Kyrgyzstan, Jonathan and Katie spent four years serving in a church in York, England. Then, Cyprus came on their radar. In 2014, they moved to Cyprus with their two boys, who were three and one, with no team and knowing no one in their city. Those first years were hard. But slowly, over the course of many years, the Doubs have seen locals come to faith and their church grow. For years, New Life Church has been the only evangelical church in their city. Even before the Doubs moved to Cyprus, they were partnered with Redeemer, and recently we’ve begun to deepen our partnership with New Life Church. We’re so excited to send Dave and Dorothy Parker to join the Doubs this fall, and we’ll continue to send short-term trips to Cyprus to help meet practical and spiritual needs. This fall, we have a trip to put on a care retreat for missionaries across Cyprus. If you’re a Redeemer member and you’re interested in going to Northern Cyprus October 29–November 8, let us know at rccbirmingham.org/cyprustrip.
